Speaking of property rights

I think I would rather have the state of Florida telling me that my employees have the right to store a gun in their car than this.

Pennsylvania: Lower Chichester Township to Discuss Illegal Firearm Registration! Thursday, April 17, 2008
Please Make Plans to Attend!
On Monday, April 21, the Board of Commissioners of the Lower Chichester Township will hold a public meeting to discuss a proposed ordinance that would require a buyer, seller, owner, tenant, or applicant to disclose whether there are or presumably will be any firearms, handguns, rifles, shotguns, ammunition, and gunpowder present prior to the sale or lease of any property. All parties involved (applicant, seller, buyer, owner and/or tenant) would be required to send law enforcement a copy of the application detailing the type and number of firearms, and the type and amount of any ammunition or gunpowder. Any violation of the ordinance would be subject to a penalty. This ordinance is in direct violation of Pennsylvanias state preemption law.

Please make plans to attend the following meeting:

Date: Monday, April 21, 2008
Time: 7:00 p.m.
Location: Township Building
1410 Market Street
Linwood, PA 19061

If you cannot attend the meeting please contact Township Commissioners at (610) 485-1472 in opposition to this anti-gun ordinance.

Township Commissioners:
Commissioner Rocco Gaspari, Jr. (R)- President
C
ommissioner John Saboe (R)- Vice-President
Commissioner Edward Brooks (R)
Commissioner Vince McCormick (R)
Commissioner Joseph Doyle (R)

Prior to the sale of property??? Before you buy a house you have to notify police as to the number and type of guns you will have there??? There is no justification to that.

I live in the South East US, the rest of the country is turning into a liberal nuthouse.

No, stuff like this happens all the time and HAS been happening all the time for decades or more. It's just a proposal, nothing has passed yet. You think politicians don't try things like this and worse all the time? You think our parents' generation politicians were any better?

We're just more exposed to seeing things like this because of the internet. That's part of the problem, is that things seem so shitty because we see all the bad stuff now. Well things were always shitty, we were just mostly cut off from the world when you think about it until recently in history. Although it seems like the general level of shittiness is accelerating, so soon it may be shittier than ever before.

LOL -- seen that south park episode where they count the number of times they swear on TV?

Pretty soon we will all be criminals just for exercising our God given rights. Seems to me that this is contrary to the 4th, 5th and 9th Amendments. The 10th is probably in there as well.

Notice all of the commissioners are Republicans. That means one of them had to introduce this proposal. It is absolutely sickening to see the amendments and bills coming from republican/conservative politicians.

Absolutely disgusted..

Hey TA, this is just a township ordinance not a State law. Just be sure you are not switching your residence to that "township".

Re: Speaking of property rights

I wouldn't be too worried. PA state law specifically states that no political subdivision can pass their own laws with respect to firearms ownership, reporting, etc. They may "pass" this one, but it's going to be thrown out the first time someone takes a stand against it. Not the first time this has happened in PA.
